Colm Long, Former VP, Global Operations at Facebook, Naomi Timperley, Co-Founder of Tech North Advocates, Femi Kalejaiye, Senior Equity Campaign Manager at Crowdcube, Perdie Alder, Co-Founder of Spice Startups and Eamonn Carey, MD of Techstars London and a General Partner at The Fund, make up some of the top names taking part in a new 6-week digital programme for pre-seed and pre-accelerator level tech startups to get them ready for investment, growth and scale.
Run by Startacus, Vi, a 6 week, part-time virtual incubator for pre-seed tech startups will start on the 26th October and in the opening week will feature a fireside discussion with Bruce Daisley, Ex Twitter VP and international bestselling author.
Covid-19, has impacted on the tech startup space, with typically high-cost tech startup events and co-working spaces both facing key challenges.
Startups are equally feeling the brunt of this, and the lack of opportunities to build networks and knowledge, risks a further increase of the barriers that some founders already face when trying to grow and develop their businesses.
Startacus is on a mission to offer real accessibility for early stage startups to find opportunity, investors, network and knowledge.
Alastair Cameron, Co-Founder of Startacus said:
"Digital acceptance for learning, networking, business development and growth has actually created an opportunity for startup founders whatever their background, gender or ethnicity to
gain equal access to the tools, connections and programmes that can take their businesses forward.
With this equity-free virtual incubator, we are keen to keep costs for founders low, with an overall £95.00 price for the 6-week long programme. Long term, we aim to secure brand sponsorship from startup-focused brands, so that we can continue to offer a low cost, but high-quality programme."
Tickets for Vi's first cohort are now open, with pre-seed and pre-equity accelerator level startups encouraged to book for the programme, which will signpost them to the mentors, programmes and facilitators who can help them take their business forward and fast, getting them ready for growth, pitching, investment, accelerators and corporate collaboration.
Operating for up to 5 hours per week, over a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, there will be a combination of networking, learning sessions, inspirational talks, and key-note talks focused on growing and scaling a tech startup.
Other key programme speakers and workshop facilitators so far include Kike Oniwinde, Co-Founder & CEO of BYP Network, Dave Graham, Global Director of Emerging Technologies Messaging at Dell and Amy Williams, Co-Founder of Good-Loop.
